About the Speaker

Dr Cynthia Swarnalatha is a Senior Researcher at the University of Oxford and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Exeter.  With a PhD in Applied Health Sciences and a background in physiotherapy and psychology, her work focuses on implementing and evaluating evidence-based physiotherapy interventions globally. She has contributed to digital knowledge mobilisation projects, Cochrane reviews, and international collaborations translating patient materials into 13 languages. Cynthia also champions research capacity building—leading journal clubs and learning hubs for physiotherapists in India and the UK—and advancing culturally adapted outcome measures in Tamil. Her volunteer contributions include Cochrane Tamil translations and PEDro Tamil resources, reflecting her commitment to equitable and inclusive rehabilitation research and practice.
