About PAIR and its
mission
PAIR is a special
interest group under the Society of Radiographers (SoR) established to support
and empower Indian-origin radiographers. The organisation aims to:
·
Foster a
supportive network for Indian-origin radiographers in the UK.
·
Promote the
professional development and career advancement of its members.
· Celebrate
and share the unique contributions of Indian radiographers to the UK healthcare
system.
· Advocate for the interests of Indian-origin radiographers within the wider healthcare community.
· Provide professional development
opportunities and resources.

A Community Built on
Connection:
PAIR's journey began
in January 2021 with the creation of a WhatsApp group, fostering a space for
Indian radiographers in the UK to connect and support each other. This
initiative resonated with the SoR, leading to PAIR's official recognition as a
SIG in December 2023.
Empowering
Radiographers:
PAIR serves as a
valuable resource for its members. The organisation offers pastoral support to
newly recruited radiographers, helping them navigate the professional landscape
in the UK. Additionally, PAIR guides aspiring radiographers who are seeking to
establish their careers within the UK healthcare system.
A Stepping Stone for
the Future:
The formation of a
director board marks a significant milestone for PAIR. This dedicated group of
leaders will steer the organisation’s
future endeavours, ensuring continued support and growth for Indian-origin radiographers
in the UK.
The Director Board
The newly formed PAIR director board comprises a diverse group of experienced and dedicated radiographers. These individuals will be responsible for providing strategic direction, overseeing operations, and leading PAIR's initiatives to serve its members effectively.
Looking Ahead
With the director board in place, PAIR is well-positioned to achieve its goals and make a positive impact on the radiology profession in the UK. The organisation looks forward to engaging with its members, collaborating with stakeholders, and contributing to the advancement of patient care.
